This study investigates the most prevalent behavioral
problems among secondary schools students in Khartoum
locality. The study also aims at investigating the relationship
between parental acceptance/rejection styles of socialization with
the dimensions of behavioral problems. Moreover, it highlights
statistical differences in behavioral problems among secondary
school students according to gender and class level. The
researchers applied the descriptive correlational approach in
conducting this study. Stratified random sample method was
used to select (802) subjects; (402) males and (400) females. The
tools of data collection consist of the following: Bibliographical
Information Sheet, Acceptance/Rejection styles of and,
Behavioral Problems Scale. The data are analyzed by computer
applying the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS),
using the following tests: Pearson and Spearman Correlation
Coefficient, T-test and One Way Analysis of Variance
(ANOVA). The most important findings of the study are as
follows: Failure to perform school's duties, lack of abidance by
the school schedule, speaking with colleagues during the period
(lecture), eating inside the classroom and too much movement
inside the classroom are the most prevalent problems among
secondary school students. There is a significant statistical
difference in behavioral problems between males and females
students. There is a significant negative correlation coefficient
between parental acceptance with all dimensions of behavioral
problems; whereas, positive correlation coefficient is found
between carelessness, hostility and rejection with all behavioral
problems. Suggestions for further studies were proposed, and
references were cited at the end of the study.
