Large-scale projects can not only influence the future of the city in many ways
but also play an important role in shaping people’s attitudes toward urban management.
Rasht Municipality Square (Meydan-e Shahrdari-e Rasht) Cultural
pedestrian zone is one of the national scale urban regeneration projects that
plays an important role in shaping the attitude of the people of Rasht to previous
urban management as well as how to judge the current one. Therefore, the present
study investigates the role of this project in the perception of Rasht people
about urban management. In terms of nature and method, this research relies
on quantitative and statistical analysis. Accordingly, 247 questionnaires were
distributed in the study area. For analysis of nonparametric data, Kruskal-Wallis
test and Spearman correlation are applied to assess the effect of independent
variables on the dependent variables of the study. The results showed that by
increasing the positive attitude of citizens towards large-scale projects, citizens›
attitude towards urban management will be improved. And the more citizens
are more satisfied with the municipal record in the construction-civil dimension,
the more positive the judgment of citizens will be on urban management
performance.
