چکیده:
ما زالت العرب تذكر النيل وما يزال في اشعارهم قديماً وحديثاً فلايكاد يخلو منه ديوان شعر من دواوين شعراء مصر والسودان. وفتن عقول الشعراء فنشدوا فيه روائع شعريه، تتسم برقه الديباجه وسلامه الاسلوب وجزاله اللفظ وشرف المعني. فمنهم الشعراء من احبوا النيل حبا جماً كالشاعر «عبدالله الطيب المجذوب» الذي سمي ديوانه «اصداء النيل».
النيل عنده يخرج من دائره الحس والماده إلي دائره المعني، فهو رمز لقوه الإراده وإن مجد النيل هو مجد الوطن، ومن ثم التغني بحب النيل هو غناء بحب النيل، إذ يجد الشاعر عنده الطمانينه والسكينه بسبب علاقه حميمه تربط بينهما منذ الطفوله الباكره، وإن الصله بينهما هي صله «الحب الفطري» ومن ثَمَ كان الحنين إلي النيل حنيناً إلي الإنسان والزمان والمكان، فتعلقت روحه بالنيل واهله، فلا يكاد يستطيع مفارقته. لذلك يتحدث عن النيل في ديوانه مرات؛ بل وسمي تسعاً من قصائده ومقطوعاته الشعريه باسماء النيل.
