Herat is one of the major cities of Greater Khorasan that did not depart from the attacks of
Amir Timur Gurkani and was attacked by his forces in two phases. The present study aimed
to investigate the reaction of the people and rulers of Herat city to the Timur invasion. Thus,
the type of confrontation between the people and the rulers has been addressed by this
offensive (in the first place) and the causes of this instability and ultimately the victory of
Timur (in the second place). The findings of this historical-based research with a descriptive
and analytical approach show that Herat City has been actively responding to the invasion
and has made every effort to counter this threat. The most and most effective resistance in the
city was carried out by troops led by Amir Ghiasuddin and supported by the people. What
made Timur's resistance and occupation of the city ineffective, on the one hand, was the
internal divisions and the lack of coherence and solidarity between the political, religious
rabbis within al-Crete, and on the other hand, due to the bad social and political conditions in
Khorasan, in particular. The clashes between Al-Crete and the Soldiers and the political,
military power of both sovereignty and the result of neglect of the foreign enemy such as
. .Timor became disillusioned
